Production Cell Team Leader

Position Summary

Act as the leader of a manufacturing cell (3-5 members) coordinating work assignments, meeting schedule requirements, planning material deliveries and returns, processing shop floor orders, training team members and ensuring safety, quality and productivity objectives and levels are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage team performance to achieve productivity and quality standards
• Coordinate workflow in accordance with the production schedule and shop floor orders
• Process shop floor orders to report production and relieve inventory
• Plan raw material deliveries to ensure maximum uptime
• Process material returns accurately, ensuring reliable inventory management
• Train team members in the operation of equipment and use of tooling and fixtures
• Ensure strict adherence and compliance with company rules and OSHA regulations; enforce the proper use of PPE; maintain a strong safety posture
• Perform the tasks and duties of the cell as a value-adding member of the team: assemble, build, inspect, test and package products in accordance with work instructions and manufacturing procedures
• Set-up, operate, breakdown and troubleshoot production machinery
• Perform duties in accordance with management directives and quality assurance
• Perform simple maintenance and work area cleanliness tasks
• Assist in maintaining a motivated and disciplined work force
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience supervising in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Ability to set up, operate and troubleshoot automated equipment and machinery
• Experience with manufacturing resource management systems, processing and modifying shop floor orders
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage and coordinate the work of others; ability to work with other departments to achieve production goals
• Strong focus on safety in the workplace
• High School Degree or equivalent

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a typical shop floor/production environment - PPE usage requirements exist

Job Type: Fulltime, On-site, 1st Shift, Non-Exempt

Wages: Starting at $20 per hour
