Position Summary

Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts, tow motors and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Perform heavy lifting tasks regularly while adhering to OSHA safety standards to prevent injuries and ensure a safe work environment
- Pick and pack orders accurately using warehouse management systems to fulfill orders efficiently
- Load and unload shipments from trucks, containers, or trailers with precision using appropriate equipment
- Conduct shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation; ensure proper documentation is created and maintained
- Maintain organized storage areas by stacking pallets correctly and ensuring materials are stored securely in compliance with safety protocols
- Assist in inventory counts and cycle counts to keep stock levels accurate; report discrepancies promptly
- Support warehouse operations by performing routine mechanical inspections on equipment like forklifts or cranes; report maintenance needs for repairs
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies diligently during daily tasks to promote a safe working environment
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to improve workflows and implement best practices for materials handling and storage efficiency
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, order picking, and materials handling
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, tow motors and pallet jacks
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance is highly desirable
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory movements
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during order picking and load & unload activities
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors on daily operations
Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in shipping and receiving operations
- 5 years of forklift experience
- Experience with domestic and international logistics systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
- Personal and professional accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with domestic and international logistics systems
- 10 years of experience in shipping and receiving operations
- Forklift operation certification
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a production environment - PPE usage requirements exist
