Position Summary

F3EA, Inc. is seeking a qualified FAA Senior Rigger with extensive experience in military and civilian parachute systems. Senior Rigger will function as a subject matter expert (SME) in parachute system maintenance in support of scheduled Combat Mission Readiness (CMR), advanced and proficiency/currency jump operations. 

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provides training pertaining to in-servicing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of current parachute and Aircrew Flight Equipment. 
  • Educate, Train and provide oversight of Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rigger performance. 
  • Must be a current FAA Senior Parachute Rigger.
  • Document processes and provide continual process improvement.
  • Comply with company standard operating policies (SOP) and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Education

Must be current and qualified to maintain the following parachute systems:

  • Required certification as FAA Senior Rigger 
  • United Parachute Technologies (UPT) Vector Harness/Container
  • Performance Designs (PD) Main/Reserve Parachute Canopies
  • CYPRES 2 Automatic Activation Device (AAD)
  • RA-1 Parachute System: BOC and DBSL configurations
  • RA-1 Reserve
  • SOV 3 Parachute System: BOC and DBSL configurations
  • Butler Reserve Parachute System /TT-600/1000 Bundle Recovery System
  • Inspect, pack, maintain, and service all assigned premeditated and cargo parachute systems (RA‑1, MC‑6, T‑11R‑SP, APS, Intruder, etc.).
  • Performed numerous main and reserve canopy assemblies and inspections.
  • Experience in conducting maritime operations that include washing and hanging of systems after water jumps for both Main and Reserve systems.
  • Must have experience Military Tandems, BOC, and S/L configurations, packing for passenger (MTTB) (400s, 425s, 460s)
  • Must have extensive Reserve Inspection and Repack experience.
  • Must have extensive Main Inspection and Repack experience.
  • Pack a minimum of four complete parachute systems per day (main and reserve).
  • Build and rig aerial delivery loads, including combat expendable platforms, maritime airdrop loads, and SOF‑specific equipment.
  • Assist with classroom and field instruction for newly assigned personnel and contractor staff.
  • Perform Parachute Rigger Checks during unit training jump operations.
  • Inspect, service, and maintain high‑altitude supplemental oxygen systems.
  • Maintain and repair ancillary equipment (NVGs, altimeters, flotation devices, emergency breathing systems).
  • Recover, wash, dry, and retrograde parachutes and airdrop items during land and water operations.
  • Operate drying towers and maintain a clean, safe rigging workspace.
  • Support live‑action role‑player scenarios during land and maritime training.
  • Load airdrop equipment, training gear, and logistics supplies onto aircraft or vessels.
  • Participate in squadron meetings, information sessions, and morale events during normal duty hours.
  • Assist with workspace organization, shelving moves, and general support tasks.
  • Maintain all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements, ratings, and privileges.
  • Preferred: Military Tandem Parachute Systems (Butler).
  • Preferred: USAQMC&S Phase 1 certification.
  • Exceptional at organization, multi-tasking, proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, Suite, and proper phone etiquette
  • Knowledge/application of formal classroom/field instruction techniques and procedures


Work authorization/security clearance requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOD Security Clearance
  • Visual acuity corrected to 20/20.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to the Air Force Network.
  • Completion of RA‑1 Military Freefall rigging course (USAQMC&S or approved NET/MTT).
  • Completion of Cobham Parachutist Oxygen Training or equivalent AFSPECWAR‑approved training.
  • Completion of MC‑6/T‑11R Static Line Parachute Systems course (USAQMC&S or approved NET/MTT).
  • Minimum two years’ experience with AFSPECWAR, SOF units, or equivalent rigging detachments.
  • Minimum one year as an FAA Senior Rigger with military parachute systems or DoD SOF/Test Facility.
  • High School Graduate (or higher) with 10 or more years of Rigging Experience

 

Physical Demands

  • Must be physically fit to include all fundamentals of fitness (Physically capable of carrying 70 lbs for 50 yards and pulling 150 lbs on a pulley system).
  • Must be able to pack parachutes outdoors for eight (8) hours a day.
  • Conduct Parachute Equipment training/instruction functions in accordance with applicable Air Force, DoD and FAA guidance and regulations.
