Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Load Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will book freight for drivers, optimize freight loads, and ensure timely delivery by leveraging your expertise in logistics and transportation planning. Your proactive approach will help maintain efficient operations and exceptional customer service across our fleet.
Duties
- Develop and manage daily load plans using McLeod (TMS).
- Coordinate with drivers and customers via multi-line phone systems and internal communication channels to confirm schedules and resolve issues
- Monitor freight movement, track shipments, and update relevant data entry records accurately in logistics software like SyteLine and Fleet Management systems
- Manage shipping & receiving schedules, coordinate freight pickups, deliveries, and vehicle dispatching activities
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to facilitate smooth transportation planning and resolve any logistical challenges promptly
Experience
- Proven experience in transportation planning, logistics, or dispatching within a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of road transportation operations, freight management, and fleet management practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a multi-tasking environment
- Exceptional communication skills for phone call management, customer service interactions, and internal coordination
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to vehicle dispatching, shipping & receiving procedures, and freight compliance
