Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Designer / Piping Drafter to join our growing design team. This individual will play a key role in the design, coordination, and documentation of mechanical piping systems for large-scale commercial and high-rise building projects. We welcome recent graduates with strong Revit skills as well as experienced candidates with a solid background in mechanical piping design.
What will you do
- Produce detailed Revit-based 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical piping systems, including hydronic, steam, and refrigerant
- Develop shop drawings, coordination drawings, details, and sketches for fabrication and field installation
- Participate in BIM/MEP coordination with other trades (electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, structural, architectural) to identify and resolve clashes prior to construction
- Collaborate closely with the fabrication shop and field installation team to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and buildable
- Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and project closeout documentation
- Interpret and work from architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications
- Support project managers and senior engineers in meeting project milestones and deadlines
What you bring
- Proficiency in Revit
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or a related field — OR equivalent hands-on experience in a mechanical contracting environment
- Understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical piping layouts, and building mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and engineering drawings
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — must be able to work effectively within a team and interface with field personnel, project managers, and other trades
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in architectural, engineering, or mechanical contracting environments
- Familiarity with Navisworks, or other BIM coordination tools
- Experience working on high-rise or large commercial construction projects
- Exposure to sheet metal duct and/or pipe fabrication processes is a plus

Compensation: Salary is determined based on experience level.
Recent graduate with Revit experience $65,000-$72,000
3-9 years of required experience $80,000-$115,000
10 years of preferred experience $120,000-$150,000
