Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Handle chemical agents safely while cleaning and maintaining proper storage protocols in accordance with safety procedures
- Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to ensure floors are polished, buffed, and properly cared for
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting to support overall facilities upkeep
- Follow strict safety protocols during all cleaning activities, including proper manual handling techniques for heavy lifting or moving equipment
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, supplies used, and safety compliance activities
Requirements
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and scrubbers effectively
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling practices aligned with safe lifting practices
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks including basic repairs or residential painting is a plus
