Heavy Equipment Operator (Experienced)

Location: Wasilla, Alaska (Mat-Su Valley & remote sites)
Reports To: Foreman
Type: Full-time (seasonal demands typical of Alaska)
Position Summary
F&P Forestry Services is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support field operations in land clearing, site prep, forestry mulching, and excavation.
This is not entry-level. You should already be comfortable in a machine and able to produce. You’ll work under a foreman while continuing to build your skills and grow within the company.
What You’ll Do
- Operate excavators, skid steers, mulchers, and dozers safely and efficiently
- Assist with land clearing, grading, site prep, and material movement
- Support the foreman and keep production moving on job sites
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Work as part of a team to complete jobs on time and to spec
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Other duties as assigned
What You Need
- 2–5 years of equipment operating experience
- Comfortable running skid steer and excavator (dozer/mulcher is a plus)
- Basic understanding of grading and site work
- Ability to take direction and work efficiently
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work in Alaska conditions (mud, cold, long days)
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus or willingness to obtain)
- 30 day probation period.
