Summary
Produces and repairs belts used to drive machinery and convey materials by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Examines customer orders to determine required materials and procedures needed to produce final product.
- Prepares belts and other belting material to customer specifications by cutting, slitting, buffing, and/or cleaning.
- Assembles and manufacture belts using a variety of methods including, but not limited to, lacing, vulcanizing, bonding, coating, heating, and fabricating.
- Uses a variety of different hand tools, power tools, and machinery to grind and modify belts and belt surfaces to customer specifications including, but not limited to, utility knives, hand buffers, slitting machines, grinding machines, lathes, bench grinders, heat guns/paddles, dremmels, and other similar equipment.
- Cleans and prepares belts for shipping.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out simple multi-step instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions, vibrations, and hazardous materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Mathematical Skills The employee may be required to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtractraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
