Duties
- Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials using hand tools and power tools
- Support framing, trim carpentry, siding, roofing, and drywall installation tasks on-site
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, setting up scaffolding, and organizing materials
- Handle heavy lifting of materials such as lumber, concrete forms, rebar, and fixtures safely and efficiently
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to understand project requirements
- Aid in the installation of doors, windows, cabinets, fixtures, and other building components
- Support restoration projects including water damage remediation, plastering, stucco application, and mold remediation
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools (hammers, saws, drills) and power tools (nail guns, saws) used in carpentry and construction
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution
- Experience with framing (wood or metal stud), drywall installation, flooring, tile laying, and roofing techniques
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and material handling procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during tasks such as caulking, caulking removal, fixture installation, and masonry work
- Familiarity with the use of CNC machinery or fabrication equipment is a plus but not required
- Strong work ethic with a focus on safety standards on construction sites; ability to follow schematics and instructions accurately
