Behavior Consultant (Level 2 Clinician)

At F.L.O.W. Recreation, we are a community of advocates, dreamers, and doers dedicated to transforming what is possible for individuals with disabilities. While we have traditionally empowered the individuals we serve through a holistic approach including fitness, leisure, outings, and wellness interventions, we are excited to expand our mission through our new Behavioral Support Services (BSS) division. This new service line complements our established recreational therapy approach by focusing specifically on positive behavioral supports to foster independence so individuals can grow toward their “good life.”  

The Opportunity: Professional Autonomy & Flexibility

We are seeking qualified Behavior Consultants (Level 2 Clinicians) to join our team in a community-based capacity serving Indianapolis and surrounding areas.

As an Independent Contractor with F.L.O.W., you have the freedom to:

• Design Your Caseload: Build your client list as much or as little as you desire to fit your professional goals.
• Own Your Schedule: Coordinate directly with the individuals and families you serve to set your own hours.
• Work Where It Matters: Provide home-based and community services where individuals can build social capital and independence in their own neighborhoods.

The BSS Model: A Person-Centered Approach

F.L.O.W. operates under the newly reconfigured Behavioral Support Services (BSS) model. We empower individuals and their families to determine the level of support that best fits their needs across three core activities:

1. Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA): Identifying interfering behaviors and establishing a baseline for growth.
2. Consultative Services: Providing streamlined behavioral coaching and general consultation to address intermittent needs.
3. Comprehensive Services: Delivering ongoing, in-depth behavioral interventions aimed at long-term skill building and increased quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Assessment: Facilitate the Functional Behavior Assessment process through observations, interviews, environmental assessments, and data collection.
• Creative Plan Development: Design trauma-informed, evidence-based Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) that utilize the least restrictive interventions possible.
• Collaborative Training: Train staff, family members, Home and Community Support Professionals, and other Waiver service providers on effective Behavior Support Plan implementation.
• Fostering Independence: Support in learning new, positive behaviors and coping strategies to increase safety and autonomy.
• Monitoring Progress: Regularly review and report data on both positive behaviors that are increasing as well as interfering behaviors and adjust strategies as needed to ensure progress toward a "good life".

Requirements & Qualifications

We are seeking dedicated Master’s level providers who meet one of the following criteria per 460 IAC 6-5-4:

• Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, or Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Master’s Degree in a Human Services field with coursework or five (5) years of experience in devising, implementing, and monitoring behavioral support plans (subject to BDS approval).
• Indiana Licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, or LMHC.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to pass required criminal history and registry background checks.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance for travel throughout Marion County and surrounding areas. .
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (must include in-person mannequin training).
• A strong commitment to Positive Behavioral Supports and non-aversive methods.

Work Location: Services will be provided in Individuals' homes and out in the community in Marion County and surrounding areas.
