Summary of Position
The Crate Builder builds custom crates for shipment of products. Using a variety of saws, nail guns, staple guns, etc., the Crate Builder is responsible for building shipping crates that withstand the rigors of shipping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Construct crates using wood, nails, and nail guns & staple guns
- Make sure crates are in good condition (Repair when needed)
- Maintain a steady workflow by following procedures accurately and timely
- Perform duties with minimal supervision
- Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition
- Perform assigned duties with quality in mind
- Follow all company instructions, safety policies, and rules
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
- Prior Manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Prior Woodworking experience (preferred)
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Ability to read color labels and identify products
- Ability to read tape measure
- Ability to use saw, nail guns, and other hand tools
- Basic math skills
- Forklift training
