What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Sales Manager position at F&J Master Sales Corp?
Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (Bilingual Spanish/English) – Middle Market Wholesale Grocery Distribution; Full-Time
Location: Bronx, NY
(Covering NYC, Long Island, NJ, Westchester, and occasional CT travel)
Job Overview:
We are a thriving middle-market wholesale grocery distributor specializing in ethnic and Dominican products, and we’re looking for an experienced, bilingual Regional Sales Manager to join our team.
You will lead sales efforts across the five boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester, and occasionally Connecticut. This role is ideal for someone fluent in both Spanish and English who wants to make an impact in a growing, community-oriented company and grow into a long-term leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Territory Management
- Develop and execute sales strategies for assigned territories, focusing on grocery stores, supermarkets, bodegas, pharmacies, and other distributors.
- Maintain a strong, regular presence in the field with in-person customer visits.
Client Relationship & Account Management
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and product mix.
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding product placement.
Overdue Balance Collection
- Take a proactive but professional approach to collecting overdue balances.
- Work closely with the office team to maintain strong cash flow and healthy accounts.
Efficiency with Digital Tools
- Use an iPad and our digital platforms to manage accounts, enter orders, review pricing, and monitor territory performance.
- Adapt as we transition and improve our systems and processes over time.
Team Collaboration & Field Support
- Work alongside a 10-person sales team to strengthen client relationships and improve territory performance.
- Join reps on client visits, offer guidance, and share best practices in the field.
- Lead through partnership — not micromanagement — while progressively taking on greater regional oversight and leadership responsibility.
Growth & Performance Goals
- Meet monthly targets for onboarding new clients and achieving sales goals.
- Contribute to territory growth through new accounts, increased volume, and better product penetration.
- Participate in a performance-based bonus structure tied to collections, upselling, and client acquisition.
- Room to grow as the company and sales team expand — your bonus potential increases as your performance and client base grow.
Skills & Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
- 2–3 years of experience in B2B sales or hands-on experience in the grocery/supermarket/wholesale industry. (Alternatively, seasoned professionals with deep industry knowledge are strongly encouraged to apply — we value experience over formal titles.)
- Familiarity with ethnic/Latin American/Dominican grocery products and the NYC/NJ market is a strong plus — or a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable using an iPad and learning new systems for order entry, pricing, and account tracking.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, especially with independent retailers and small businesses.
- Comfortable working on the go, traveling between accounts, and spending time in a warehouse office setting when needed.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel within the region (NYC, Long Island, NJ, Westchester, occasional CT).
- Local residents strongly preferred — this role requires regular in-person client visits and warehouse check-ins.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary performance-based bonus/commission (range listed on really)
- PTO / Vacation / Sick Days
- Travel reimbursement (available after a set period with the company)
Additional Information
You’ll report directly to management and have a clear point of contact for support and decision-making. While we don’t have a traditional office setup, you’ll have access to a computer on-site as needed, and most of your time will be spent in the field and at our warehouse.
We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us, build real relationships in the community, and help take our sales efforts to the next level.
