Accounting Specialist

📍 North Andover, MA (Transitioning to Salem, NH)

F.H. Cann & Associates (FHC) is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. This role supports core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, deposits, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Reporting directly to the Controller, the ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

✅ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

✅ Prepare bank deposits and verify receipts

✅ Assist with billing, deposits, and other accounting activities

✅ Maintain accurate financial records and reports

✅ Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel for daily accounting functions

✅ Support financial reconciliations and reporting activities

✔ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

✔ Equivalent relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

✔ Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a similar role

✔ Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation)

✔ Prior accounting experience within a debt collection agency environment preferred

✔ Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills

Candidates must be able to reliably commute to our North Andover, MA office until our Salem, NH office opens.
