What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef Manager position at F&B?
Full-time Year Round Chef position in Lake George, NY. Our staff produces high quality, consistent, approachable, reasonably priced food and drinks in a comfortable, welcoming, and highly professional atmosphere. We cater to a wide range of guests from the local community, families, & visitors. We are looking for someone who:
- Has 7 years cooking experience and a culinary degree;
- Will manage inventory, kitchen staff, and vendors;
- Excellent supervisory skills to actively work with the kitchen team, lead, train, motivate and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation;
- Ensures culinary standards and responsibilities are met including monitoring quality of raw and cooked food, presentation, and proper handling, temperature and storage of all products;
- Will comply and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards. Ensure ongoing cleanliness of kitchen and serving environment.
- Has a demonstrated history of pricing, producing, executing interesting and appealing menus with appropriate understanding of product sources and costs;
- Is able to develop and execute menus and concepts to cater to a wide range of customers throughout all days of the week including breakfast, lunch, dinner, daily specials, holidays and corporate functions.
- Is reliable, has a calm and respectful temperament, works well as part of a close team, who is collaborative, willing to take and give open and honest advice, and to be a trainer and mentor;
- Establishes and maintain professional demeanor and standards of performance of the kitchen staff;
- Understands the needs of a full service restaurant and is looking for a longer-term commitment;
- Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation;
- Will direct attend regular stand up and staff meetings;
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
Education and Experience
- Minimum 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 7 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
