Job Summary
The Inventory Control role is responsible for tracking plants throughout their entire life cycle at the nursery, ensuring accuracy, quality, and readiness at every stage. This position requires strong horticultural knowledge, along with a solid understanding of the quality standards expected by Independent Garden Centers.
The ideal candidate brings confidence in making timely decisions about plant quality and readiness and is comfortable guiding and directing team members when needed. Success in this role also depends on the ability to work independently while staying closely aligned with team goals and overall nursery success.
Because this position supports multiple areas of the nursery, strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively balance competing priorities are essential.
Responsibilities for Sales Team
· Checking one week & three week out crop quality and readiness: update bloom codes, adjust ready weeks. WEEKLY
· Advise Sales of crop shortages and quality issues at shipping or on any committed orders. WEEKLY
· Take and maintain crop images. Update inventory and Online Ordering with current images. WEEKLY
· Review of plant quality at shipping. DAILY
· Direct pullers to correct crops. DAILY
· Run Lost Sales report to identify plants missing off availability / pulling errors. WEEKLY
· Assist with trade show concepts, design, plant selection and execution. FALL Season
Responsibilities for Production Team:
· Maintain tag inventory: including counts, ordering and proofing. 3x’s a year
· Print Tags and Crop markers as needed. WEEKLY
· Print weekly Work Orders (planting lists). WEEKLY
· Count and record planted materials by location. WEEKLY
· Record crop location movement. WEEKLY
· Record and report crop losses, with coding for production or sales. WEEKLY
· Reconcile inventory at the end of the crop. WEEKLY
· Maintain notes on crop timing. WEEKLY
· Maintain quality control manual and standards. MONTHLY
Minimum Qualifications and Skills – these are Non Negotiables, applications that do not show experience in these will not be considered.
· Associate’s degree or better, can be waived with more industry experience
· Proficient in Basic Math operations
· Reading and Speaking English mandatory, Speaking Basic Spanish a bonus
· Accuracy in data checking
· Tablet use required, including camera operation
· Strong Spreadsheet skills, Excel
· Strong computer skills: including word processing and email
· Strong plant knowledge in Annuals, Vegetables and Herbs
· Physically fit enough to extensively walk greenhouses daily; exposure to the weather / greenhouse conditions.
· 3-5 years’ experience for a wholesale grower, independent garden center or related business

· Hourly wage $24 / hour depending on experience.

Hiring Timeline
We will be taking applications through May 27, 2026. Interviews will start week of May 25th and conclude by June 9, 2026. Start date is June 15, 2026.
We grow floral, bedding, perennials, organic herbs, organic vegetables, berries, and hops for the Pacific Northwest.
Pay: $24.00 per hour
