Structural Steel 3D Modeler
Gridley, KS.
Join our engineering team in a hands-on technical role, modeling and detailing complex structural steel projects from concept to production. You will build 3D models, develop fabrication and erection drawings, export CNC files, support procurement, and collaborate closely with customers and shop teams to bring designs to life.
What You'll Do
• Create 3D structural steel models and detailed 2D drawings using
(SDS2- Required)
• Develop anchor bolt plans, erection plans, elevations, sections, and fabrication details
• Prepare material lists, bolt counts, and shipping load plans
• Review and approve drawing packages, cut lists, and documentation
• Work directly with Sales, Operations, and Production to ensure accuracy and timelines
• Support quality, safety, and code compliance standards (AISC, ASCE, IBC, OSHA, ANSI)
What You Bring
• Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Technology
•
3 years of SDS2 3D modeling/detailing experience - Required
• Strong knowledge of beams, columns, bracing, connections, and anchor bolts
• Familiarity with AISC, AWS, ASCE, IBC, ANSI, OSHA standards
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and teamwork
• On-site availability, 45 hours/week
• Shop fabrication or steel construction background a plus
