Overview
EZ STAK is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitter to support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, organizing, and staging materials to ensure our production teams have what they need to work efficiently and accurately.
Two Kitter positions are currently open - one for EZ SATK's day time schedule and one for the night time schedule.
Responsibilities
- Material Preparation & Organization
- Read and interpret production orders, work instructions, and schedules.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of materials used in kitting operations.
- Monitor stock levels, identify shortages, and communicate replenishment needs to the Supervisor or Inventory team.
Quality Control
- Inspect materials and components for defects, damage, or discrepancies.
- Ensure all items meet quality standards before release to production.
Timely Delivery
- Prepare kits in alignment with production schedules and deadlines.
- Coordinate with production teams to deliver materials to designated workstations or assembly lines.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety protocols when handling materials and operating equipment.
- Adhere to company standards for material handling, inventory control, and workplace safety.
- Gather, select, and organize materials, components, and parts according to required specifications and quantities
Key Competencies
Material Handling & Equipment Use
- Ability to safely handle and organize materials used in manufacturing.
- Experience operating material-handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) is an asset.
Attention to Detail
- Accurately read and interpret production documents.
- Ensure precise counting, selection, and verification of materials.
Inventory & Quality Awareness
- Understanding of basic inventory control principles.
- Ability to identify quality issues and take appropriate action.
Organization & Time Management
- Strong ability to organize materials efficiently to support production flow.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Communication & Teamwork
- Clear communication with supervisors, production teams, and other departments.
- Work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.
Problem-Solving
- Identify and resolve material discrepancies, shortages, or quality concerns promptly.
- Take corrective action to prevent production delays.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read work orders, pick lists, and basic production documents.
- Basic computer skills: ERP or inventory system experience (e.g., Epicor) considered an asset.
- Effective organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or material handling preferred.
- Background in kitting, inventory control, or parts handling is an asset.
