Must have chauffeurs liscense and comfortable driving a box truck.
Duties
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals at each destination.
- Load and unload merchandise, often involving heavy lifting and merchandising tasks, while maintaining safety standards.
- Communicate professionally with clients upon delivery, addressing questions and providing excellent customer service.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, enhancing client satisfaction and sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records for each trip.
- Follow all organizational procedures related to pricing, route driving, and vehicle maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including route driving and automobile transportation.
- Strong understanding of basic math for calculating distances, measurements, and pricing adjustments.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices.
- Knowledge of retail store operations and merchandising is a plus.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage schedules, routes, and documentation effectively.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements for commercial truck driving.
- Customer relationship building skills to foster trust and repeat business.
- Sales aptitude with the ability to upsell products or services confidently.
