Overview:
As a restaurant server, you play a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. You are the face of the restaurant, responsible for delivering friendly and efficient service while maintaining a thorough knowledge of our menu offerings and providing recommendations to enhance our guests' dining experience. Your attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to anticipate guests' needs are essential to our success in providing outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
- Provide menus and offer recommendations based on guests' preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Take accurate orders and relay them to the kitchen staff promptly.
- Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or special requests.
- Process payments and issue receipts accurately.
- Thank guests for their patronage and invite them to return.
2. Product Knowledge:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the restaurant's menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and seasonal specials.
- Stay informed about beverage options, including wine & beer to make appropriate recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to accommodate special requests or dietary requirements.
3. Table & Dinning area Maintenance:
- Set up tables with appropriate utensils, napkins, and condiments before guests arrive.
- Table turnover and ensure that each table is promptly cleared and reset for the next guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including wiping down tables and chairs, and assisting with overall restaurant cleanliness as needed.
4. Teamwork:
- Collaborate with fellow servers, hosts/hostesses, kitchen staff, and management to provide a seamless dining experience.
- Assist colleagues during peak hours or when extra support is needed.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen staff to ensure timely service and order accuracy.
5. Upselling and Revenue Generation:
- Suggest appetizers, desserts, or additional items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
- Promote special promotions, events, or loyalty programs to guests.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred; training will be provided.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills for processing payments and handling cash transactions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and carry trays of food and drinks weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
