Responsibilities
- Perform detailed cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools safely and efficiently.
- Handle chemical agents with care, following safety protocols for chemical handling and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using proper manual handling techniques to move furniture, supplies, or equipment without injury.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly.
- Support general facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs and upkeep to ensure optimal facility operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries professionally and maintaining a positive attitude while working with team members and facility users.
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred; familiarity with commercial cleaning environments is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care including buffing and polishing, and sanitation practices.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely according to established safety procedures.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout shifts.
