Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to join our Houston team. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with heavy equipment assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair. You will be directly involved in the build and service of pumps, power units, dredge systems, and modular float equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components on heavy industrial equipment (pumps, power units, dredges, floats).
- Perform mechanical testing, troubleshooting, and quality checks on assembled equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, forklifts, and other shop equipment.
- Assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and repair both in-house and occasionally in the field.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve assembly processes and equipment reliability.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, engines, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and work instructions.
- Experience with pumps, dredging equipment, or heavy construction machinery preferred.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in a shop/field environment.
