Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Optometrist (OD) to join our busy private practice. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for a diverse patient population. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your ophthalmology knowledge and optical experience while making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. You will be working alongside/supported by two MD's in a collaborative environment with great staff support.
Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations using the most up to date equipment/imaging to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall eye function
- Diagnose and manage common and complex eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and other ocular diseases
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for cases requiring specialized intervention or surgical consultation
- Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology to deliver up-to-date care
Skills
- Strong understanding of ophthalmology principles and ocular anatomy
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach
- Knowledge of medical coding processes for insurance billing and documentation purposes
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient record-keeping and data management
- Ability to communicate complex medical information clearly to patients of all ages
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient confidentiality
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
