The Co-op will report directly to the Sr. Scientist. This position is located at our Watertown, MA site.
The Co-op assignment will end on June 26, 2026.
Responsibilities:Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Individual Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects in Formulation Development R&D team.
- Assist in the preparation of samples for pre-formulation studies and solid-state characterization.
- Conduct experiments to evaluate the physicochemical properties of drug candidates, including solubility, stability, and polymorphism.
- Perform solid-state characterization techniques such as X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA).
- Document and analyze experimental data, contributing to reports and presentations.
- Single crystal growth.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot experimental challenges and optimize methodologies
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Primary skills and knowledge required include, but are not limited to the following:
- A background in thermodynamics, polymorphism, crystallization, API, and formulation process development is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques and instrumentation is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Level of Education Required:
- Currently pursuing a PhD or Masters Degree
Preferred Field(s) of Study: Materials Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences
