Have you always been interested in the sciences and health care? Are you a supporter of small, locally owned businesses? Do you have a knack for sales and customer service? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then the position of optometric assistant may be right for you. Our patients and our service are of the utmost importance to us! Preferred applicants will have a minimum of 2 years as an optician or optometric tech but we are willing to train the right personality. Our office is open Monday-Friday with a half day on Saturday and closed on Sundays.
- 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday’s - Friday
- 9:00am - 3:00pm Saturday
The ideal candidate is a friendly, punctual, dependable, professional, hard working, patient oriented individual who is a team player and can multitask. Candidates who are proactive, have great customer service, and can take initiative are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include:
- Checking patients in and out and scheduling appointments
- Collecting all charges at the end of the exam and submitting all exam and contact lens orders to their insurance
- Answering a multi-line phone line
- Verifying eligibility of insurances with both medical and vision insurances
- Responding to faxes, patient calls, and emails in a timely manner
- Product knowledge and fitting proper eyewear to patients
- Utilizing pre-testing equipment
- Glasses dispense and adjustments
- Contact lens ordering, verification, and insertion and removal training
- Assisting the doctor in various tasks both in the exam lane and in the clinic
- Other responsibilities will be assigned if the candidate proves up to the task, as well as the option of pursuing your own projects.
Compensation depends on experience. Experience in the field is required. We ask that you would be able to commit 1 to 2 years to working with our patients. If you are interested in joining our team AND can commit 1-2 years please email your resume. We look forward to meeting you!
