Receptionist / Optical Sales Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Optician or receptionist for permanent part-time work. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optical sales along with experience in medical front desk work . This role requires exceptional customer service skills. Again, experience is desired, however it is not a must. The hours will be Monday through Friday approximately between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students DO NOT apply, as we are looking for long-term permanent part-time help.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the scheduling of appointments and manage patient flow within the optical department and medical office.
• Manage billing to processes insurance claims and patient invoicing.
• Collaborate with optometrist.
• Maintain inventory of optical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for patient needs.
• Implement and monitor quality assurance measures to enhance product and service.
• Address patient inquiries and concerns effectively, fostering a positive clinic environment.
• Utilize electronic health record systems for managing patient information.

Skills

• Strong understanding of medical billing and coding practices, particularly within optometry.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and staff.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Frame selection, adjustment, fitting, and dispensing of eyewear.
