Job Overview
The Eye Surgery Center of Elizabethtown is seeking a skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to oversee daily operations, manage nursing staff, and ensure high standards of patient care. This role demands strong leadership, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate clinical activities in the operating room
- Manage nursing staff, including breaks, lunches, and schedules
- Enforce policies and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment
- Participate in direct patient care and assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care according to established Federal, State, and accreditation standards
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- Valid Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) License required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- At least 1 year of Charge Nurse/management experience is required, preferably in an Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), and/or hospital
- Must have previous Nursing experience in at least one of the following settings: Operating Room (OR), Pre-Op/Post-Op, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Experience with infection control preferred
- Favorable result on Background Check required
Working Conditions:
The employee must be able to work in well-lit and ventilated surroundings, including operating rooms, nurse's stations, procedure rooms, lounge, etc.
