Job description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate ophthalmic technician to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent patient communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document patient histories and chief complaints.
- Perform pre-exam testing, including visual acuity, tonometry, pupil testing, and visual field screening.
- Assist with specialized diagnostic testing such as OCT, photography, keratometry, and refraction.
- Prepare patients for examination and educate them on eye drops, eye conditions, and postoperative instructions.
- Support the physician during procedures and help maintain exam room readiness.
- Record findings accurately in the electronic medical record and follow compliance guidelines.
Key Qualifications:
- Prior ophthalmology or medical experience preferred
- COA, COT, or related certification preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical office protocols
- Strong communication, organization, and computer skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced clinical setting
