Role Description
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all recruitment efforts and assists with day-to-day activities related to human resources. The position works with employees at all levels to promote the company’s culture and to ensure the appropriate administration of HR policies and procedures. This position will oversee regulatory standards for applicable state and federal labor laws.
Essential Skills/Responsibilities:
· Develops employee selection standards in consultation with the HR team and operational management. Conducts and assists recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt positions; screens applications and refers top candidates to hiring managers; coordinates background screening and reference checking for final candidates; collaborates with hiring managers to develop job offers, including salary specifications.
· Advises managers on employee relations matters. Responds to employee-related issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and corrective action by conducting proper investigations, analyzing facts and circumstances, and recommending appropriate action to senior management.
· Develops and implements Human Resources policies and procedures along with senior leadership and outside expert resources, ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws and reflecting management practices that ensure consistency and a positive employee relations climate; revises and reviews employee handbook and policy & procedure manual. Ensures employees and managers are aware of, and in compliance with, policies & procedures.
· Develops and facilitates new employee orientation process including communicating employee benefits program and organizational policies and procedures, ensuring new employees are properly assimilated into ESG/PPMS’ workplace.
· Administers compensation program; ensures new employees are hired into pay ranges appropriately; monitors employee salary increases to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
· Develops and maintains job descriptions for all jobs, working with operating managers to ensure content is updated annually.
· Administers employee benefits plans by communicating current information to employees, conducting annual open enrollment for medical benefits, reporting employee/dependent changes to payroll department and carriers.
· Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations related to employment; updates and files annual EEO-1 Form, and submits form to the Joint Reporting Committee (JRC); maintains employee files and retains documents as required by state and federal law.
· Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs. Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and reports results to senior management. Identifies and coordinates succession planning for staff.
· Monitors employee turnover and assists in developing action plans for retention and employee satisfaction.
· Oversees the administration of the performance management program to ensure employees are receiving meaningful performance feedback and appropriate developmental opportunities, as needed.
· Creates, develops, and implements the new PPMS model for Human Resources.
· Consults with external legal and HR support resources, as needed.
· Completes compliance trainings as requested and required by law.
· Adheres to HIPAA compliance plan.
· Communicates effectively throughout the organization; demonstrates and promotes positive working relationships and represents ESG values and vision.
· Communicates externally with external legal and HR support resources, vendors, etc.
· All other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications/Competencies:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and one to two years Human Resources experience; OR five to seven years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR, SPHR, SP, or SCP preferred.
