SUMMARY
The Licensed Optician assists the patient with the selection, purchase, adjustment, and dispensing of eyewear. Maintain inventory control and ensure the proper documentation of optical records. Ensure a prescription capture rate in the practice of 75% or greater.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current Florida optician license required
- Associates or Bachelor Degree in Marketing or related field preferred
- Two years of experience as an optician in a busy practice required

- Knowledgeable with lenses, frames, and all optical supplies
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Educate and assist patient with the selection of eyewear in the optical department
- Greet and assist all patients in a friendly manner
- Provide routine cleaning and adjustment services for patients' eyewear
- Ensure all optical boards and surrounding areas are clean and well stocked at all times
- Order jobs from lab according to practice protocols
- Trouble-shoot eyewear issues with patients to ensure the patient's needs are met
- Check-in and document all incoming jobs correctly
- Review patient insurance to determine fees due and collect payment from patients on all orders
- Maintain certification while continuing to improve skills and attend all in-service and webinar trainings as directed by leaders
- Maintain accurate records by following proper documentation requirements
- Support the practice core values, mission, vision, and purpose statements to develop and enhance patient experience and care
- Maintain practice confidentiality, follow legal, HIPAA & OSHA guidelines, follow the rules and regulations of the practice as documented in the practice employee manual
- Other duties as assigned
OTHER

- 1 late night a week
