The responsibilities consist of obtaining insurance authorizations and verifying eligibility for clinic appointments. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
POSITION LOCATION: EYE-Q Vision Care Fresno
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday until January (or hired on if there is a need)
PAY RANGE: $21.00 - $26.39 per hour depending on skills, experience, and certifications.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generates appointment reports on a daily basis and determines which appointments require authorization and/or referral.
- Documents patient authorizations and benefit data in Practice Management System.
- Contacts Primary Care Physician for referrals and/or authorizations.
- Identifies and obtains proper benefits for all patients added to the schedule.
- Adds comments and/or instructions for Front Desk and Scheduling staff.
- Contacts patients for discrepancies regarding insurance policy ID’s or eligibility.
- Facilitates authorizations and imaging appointments for outpatient referrals per doctor’s request.
- Advises Coordinator of problems with authorizations and referrals.
- Adheres to HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Electronic data entry and computer skills.
- Knowledge in Electronic Health Records (NextGen preferred).
- Ability to manage stress and remain composed in a fastpaced work environment.
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
- High school diploma/GED.
- Six months to oneyear related experience and/or technical school training.
- Bachelor's degree (preferred).
- One to twoyears experience and/or training (preferred).
