DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages surgery bridge queue and reviews incoming requests for completeness.
• Handles surgery scheduling for patients including first postop appointments.
• Verifies health insurance eligibility and benefits and updates demographics.
• Interviews the patient to determine if the necessary requirements are met.
• Provides patients with estimates of their outofpocket expenses.
• Coordinates with ASC management team to develop and monitor efficient use of surgery blocks.
• Maintains an organized schedule that optimizes operating room utilization and minimizes delays and patient wait times.
• Performs eligibility verifications at the first of each month.
• Obtains prior authorization when necessary.
• Provides patients with general information about surgery and addresses patient questions.
  
  

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge in practice management systems.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to use or learn computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and NextGen.
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Six months to oneyear related experience and/or technical school training.
• Previous surgery scheduling experience (preferred).
  
  

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in vision care. This is a full-time position with a benefits package. Hourly rate will be determined based on the experience and training of the candidate. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.

POSITION LOCATION: EYE-Q Vision Care Fresno

PAY RANGE: $22.50 - $31.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday
