Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at the Eye Center of Hawai'i. This is an on-site role located in Lihue, HI. The Ophthalmic Technician will assist in patient care by conducting diagnostic procedures, performing specialized eye tests such as fundus photography, documenting medical information as a scribe, and supporting doctors during eye examinations. The role also includes assisting in ensuring a streamlined and patient-centered workflow within the clinic.
Qualifications
- Experience with Optometry and Ophthalmology procedures a plus but not required

- Ability to perform Medical Scribe duties, including accurately documenting patient information
- Basic understanding of medical and ophthalmic terminology a plus

- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a clinical environment
- Cerification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Technologist (COT) is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in related fields preferred
- Previous experience in an ophthalmology or medical office setting is beneficil but we are willing to train tge right person
