About the Position: We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Eye Care Associates of Belpre, LLC. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing excellent patient care.
As an Optometric Assistant, you will work closely with the optometrist and other team members to help patients throughout their visit and ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and check in patients with a warm, professional attitude
- Obtain and update patient medical and vision histories
- Perform pre-testing and basic diagnostic testing as directed by the optometrist
- Assist with patient flow and prepare patients for examinations
- Take and document accurate measurements and test results
- Assist with scheduling appointments and answering phone calls
- Verify insurance information and assist with insurance-related questions
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
- Keep examination rooms and equipment clean, organized, and prepared
- Provide exceptional customer service and create a positive patient experience
- Assist the doctor and other staff with day-to-day office needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
- Comfortable learning new technology and medical equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Previous optometry, ophthalmology, medical office, optical, or customer service experience is a plus
- No prior optometric experience required — we are happy to train the right candidate
