Responsibilities

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges with accuracy
• Greet customers warmly, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries with professionalism
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform daily cash handling duties securely
• Upsell products and promote store specials or promotions to enhance sales opportunities
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product demos are available when needed
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store aisles
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and inventory counts
• Follow phone etiquette protocols when taking orders or answering customer questions over the phone

Experience

• Previous cashiering experience in retail, grocery store, or convenience store environments preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and sales calculations
• Supervising experience is a plus, especially in overseeing team members during shifts or training new staff
• Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Strong communication skills for engaging with customers and team members confidently
• Experience in merchandising, stocking, product demos, or upselling techniques is advantageous
• Knowledge of grocery store operations and retail sales practices will help you excel in this role
