Exxelia is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Longwood, FL. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the inspection, repair, and maintenance of our building, grounds, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and maintain the company building, grounds, and equipment.
- Perform essential maintenance including flooring, drywall, painting, plumbing, and landscaping.
- Change air conditioner filters, belts, and oil motors while repairing light fixtures and replacing bulbs as needed.
- Collect and transfer hazardous and non-hazardous waste into correctly labeled containers for appropriate disposal.
- Build and install various equipment, appliances, and fixtures to support operational needs.
- Respond to repair requests in a timely fashion and collaborate effectively with the maintenance team and outside contractors.
- Load and unload equipment or incoming materials as necessary.
- Maintain meticulous logs of inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair problems while keeping an inventory of cleaning and repair supplies.
- Read and follow blueprints, repair manuals, and schematics to ensure all work meets technical specifications.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by strictly complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in building maintenance, construction, plumbing, or electrical work is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret standard measuring instruments, blueprints, and schematics.
- Highly skilled in the use of various power, hand, electric, and plumbing tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels within a matrix organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- A proactive approach to conducting assignments through to completion with a focus on improving established routines.
