The Extreme Youth Sports of Longwood are now hiring awesome Summer Camp Coaches who have strong leadership experience. Soccer, Martial Arts, Dance/Cheer, Basketball and/or past experience working with children is a MAJOR PLUS!

- Must have a clean criminal background and pass a background screening.
- Must be over the age of 18.
- Must have experience leading others.
- Must have your own reliable transportation and a good driving record.
- Must be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude for success!
- Must have access to a smart phone or computer for regular email communication.

We are looking for Camp Coaches to supervise young campers and make sure they learn and have fun. What does EYS Camp Coaches do? The most important out of all Camp Coaches duties is to ensure campers are safe at all times. You’ll be responsible for overseeing their activities and ensuring they have an impactful summer. The job duties of a Camp Coach include facilitating summer camp games, educating children and running a classroom. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of a Camp Coach. You need to have knowledge around indoor/outdoor activities, like dodgeball, soccer and various entry level sports. If you’re patient, energetic but firm when needed, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate indoor/outdoor activities or sports for groups of campers
• Adhere to a daily curriculum and schedules that take into account child specific age groups.
• Lead recreational and educational activities (such as youth sports, reading or crafting)
• Supervise children and maintaining a safe environment
• Educate campers through games and activities
• Set up of pre-set activities and maintain a clean classroom
• Make sure all safety rules and camp expectations are followed
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Perform basic first aid functions (like icing or apply a band aide) as needed and keep accurate incident logs

Skills

• Experience as Camp Coach or similar role working with children
• Familiarity with general sporting and various indoor/outdoor activities
• Patient and reliable
• Organizational and communication skills
• A love for children
• Energetic and positive personality
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow daily activities
• First aid- and CPR-certified preferred but not required
• High school diploma
