Position Summary
The Senior Estimator serves as a senior estimating professional responsible for leading complex, high-value structural steel and miscellaneous metal estimates. This role provides technical leadership, develops bid strategies, mentors estimating staff, and collaborates with executive leadership to support business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimating efforts for large, complex, or high-risk projects.
- Develop pricing strategies and bid recommendations.
- Review contract documents for commercial and technical risks.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary estimating activities.
- Build detailed labor production models and fabrication plans.
- Lead bid review meetings with senior management.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support business development and customer relationships.
- Mentor and train estimating staff.
- Improve estimating procedures, templates, and databases.
- Analyze awarded and completed projects for estimating accuracy.
- Assist with strategic planning and forecasting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 7 years of experience estimating structural steel fabrication and/or erection projects.
- Extensive knowledge of steel fabrication, detailing, and erection.
- Advanced proficiency with estimating and project management software.
- Strong financial and commercial understanding.

- Expert understanding of AISC standards and construction practices.
- Advanced analytical and risk assessment skills.
- Leadership and coaching abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
