Extreme Steel, Inc. is a growing AISC-certified structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabricator and erector serving the DC, Virginia, and Maryland areas. We are looking for an experienced and dependable Senior CNC Machine Operator to join our team and help lead CNC operations in our production environment.
What You'll Do
- Operate CNC machinery and laser processing equipment to cut and process structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
- Set up and operate CNC equipment according to production requirements, drawings, and specifications.
- Load raw materials and unload finished products safely and efficiently.
- Monitor machine operations and inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Read and follow production instructions, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Help guide and support junior CNC machine operators, providing direction and assistance as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic machine or production issues to minimize downtime.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of CNC machine operating experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong experience operating laser processing equipment for cutting steel.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, production instructions, and technical specifications.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment independently.
- Ability to lead, train, and support junior machine operators.
- Experience operating forklifts and saws preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Technical training or CNC certifications are a plus.
