Senior AV Integration Specialist (Project Lead)
Full-Time • Nashville, TN • Immediate Need
Position Overview
Extreme Lighting & Sound (ELS) is urgently hiring a Senior AV Integration Specialist capable of taking full ownership of commercial and educational AV installations from design handoff through final commissioning. This is a high-impact, leadership-forward role for someone who can walk onto a jobsite, take command of the scope, coordinate with all stakeholders, and deliver exceptional results independently.
You’ll be the point person ensuring every install is executed cleanly, safely, and to spec - while mentoring junior techs, communicating clearly with clients, and solving problems in real time. If you’re the person others call when the stakes are high, you’ll thrive here.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead AV system installs from site survey → infrastructure → device deployment → commissioning.
- Configure, program, and optimize DSPs, control systems, AV-over-IP networks, and enterprise-level audio/video systems.
- Read, interpret, and execute AV design drawings, risers, and signal flow schematics with precision.
- Provide onsite leadership: guide junior techs, coordinate multiple trades, and maintain project momentum.
- Serve as the primary onsite liaison for clients, contractors, inspectors, and project management.
- Deliver client handoff & training, along with accurate system documentation and as-builts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced AV issues quickly and confidently.
- Maintain strict adherence to ELS quality, safety, and industry best practices.
- Support project managers with material needs, scheduling adjustments, and real-time updates from the field.
Qualifications
- 5 years of professional AV installation/integration experience (commercial, educational, corporate, or government).
- Deep expertise with DSPs, control systems (Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron), Dante, and modern AV-over-IP workflows.
- Strong ability to lead field teams, coordinate vendors, and manage fast-moving, multi-layered projects.
- Manufacturer certs (Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Extron, etc.) are an advantage.
- Clear communicator with a client-first mindset and the ability to represent ELS professionally onsite.
- Comfortable working in schools, government facilities, houses of worship, and commercial environments with appropriate compliance.
- Must be reliable, organized, skilled under pressure, and ready to start immediately.
Why ELS?
- Fast-growing Nashville integration division with major school and government projects.
- A tight, skilled team that values craftsmanship, problem-solving, and professionalism.
- Clear advancement pathways into leadership, engineering, and project management.
- Competitive compensation based on experience and certifications.
We thank all applicants for their interest in ELS Nashville; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
