We are currently seeking a Head Teacher. The Head Teacher plays a vital role in creating a fun and safe environment for children to learn and grow. This position is part time during the school year, and can include a full-time or part time summer position if desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and engage with students during various activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
- Engage students with appropriate games, crafts, and recreational activities
- Provide guidance and support to students in developing social skills and positive behavior
- Collaborate with other staff to create a positive and inclusive classroom
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with children
- Comfortable leading short activities
- Demonstrated ability to conduct complex, critical problem solving independently.
- Knowledge of and ability to learn appropriate child development techniques.
- Demonstrated track record of timeliness and punctuality
- Must meet State of CT Head Teacher Requirements or be willing to work on those once hired
SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with children of various ages
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Patience, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
