Extraordinary Kids Preschool #2 is seeking a dependable, organized, and flexible Administrative Assistant/Cook to support the daily operations of our childcare center. This position combines administrative responsibilities with meal preparation, kitchen management, and occasional classroom support.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a childcare setting, knowledge of the CACFP food program, and preferably hold ServSafe certification or be willing to obtain it. The successful candidate will help maintain a welcoming, organized, safe, and healthy environment for children while supporting families, staff, and center operations.
Responsibilities:Administrative Duties:
- Assist with daily office operations and organization
- Maintain accurate records, files, and documentation
- Assist with enrollment paperwork and family communication
- Support attendance tracking and childcare records
- Help ensure compliance with state licensing requirements
- Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and visitors
- Assist the Director with administrative tasks as needed
- Help maintain a positive and organized office environment
Kitchen/Cook Responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks following CACFP meal pattern guidelines
- Maintain accurate meal counts, menus, and required CACFP documentation
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergy procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
- Complete food ordering, inventory tracking, and supply management
- Accommodate children’s dietary needs and restrictions
- Ensure meals are prepared and served according to the center schedule
Classroom Support Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support as needed to assist with staffing needs
- Assist teachers with supervision, activities, and daily routines
- Support a positive, nurturing, and engaging environment for children
- Follow classroom procedures and childcare licensing requirements
- Step into classrooms when needed to maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in childcare, food service, or administrative support preferred
- Knowledge of CACFP requirements and meal pattern guidelines preferred
- ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy childcare environment
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with children and staff
- Must meet Missouri childcare licensing requirements
