CNC Machinist
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated entry-level CNC Machinist to join our tooling department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has completed CNC machining training and is ready to build hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced machinists to set up, operate, and monitor CNC equipment while producing precision parts to specification. We value reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes with minimal supervision
- Load raw material, tooling, and fixtures according to job requirements
- Monitor machines during operation and make basic adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet blueprint specifications and tolerances
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized
- Follow all safety protocols and quality standards
- Accurately document production data and report any issues to the supervisor
- Assist with deburring, finishing, and other secondary operations as needed
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a CNC machining program, technical certificate, or equivalent training
- Basic understanding of G-code and CNC operation
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
Preferred
- Familiarity with common CNC controls (Fanuc preferred)
- Basic knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Experience with manual machining a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise, machinery, and coolant
- Ability to work additional hours when necessary
