Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Associate or Managing Director, the Hollywood Site Leader is responsible for the daily operations of the assigned early childhood education site, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements, maintaining classroom ratios, and promoting a safe, engaging environment where children can learn and thrive. The Site Leader supports teacher growth and development by supervising teaching staff, monitors classroom environments through regular observation feedback cycles, welcomes families and maintains a consistent presence throughout the day, and ensures all required paperwork is updated and accurate. This role also includes collaborating with Family Support Specialists on attendance concerns, participating in leadership meetings and teacher development, and serving as a liaison with internal teams including mental health, family services, education, disabilities, and health and nutrition to ensure coordinated, high-quality services for all children and families.
Duties
Ensures compliance with all Early/Head Start, DOE, and Community Care Licensing (CCL) policies related to education, health, nutrition, mental health, disability, and family engagement; oversees implementation of a high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning environment responsive to children’s needs.
Provides instructional leadership by collecting and analyzing observations of children's learning behaviors, supporting lesson planning and individualized goal setting, and overseeing the completion of DRDPs and CLASS observations.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date records including attendance, emergency cards, contact sheets, home visits, and all mandated reports; ensures documentation of all incidents, accidents, and behavioral concerns.
Leads and supports the classroom teaching team by holding regular teacher meetings, sharing updates on policies and lesson plans, and ensuring alignment with program expectations; completes incident reports and addresses classroom issues as needed.
Oversees site operations by monitoring daily classroom ratios, completing health and safety checklists, and ensuring compliance with CACFP guidelines including food preparation, food temperature, and family-style meals.
Participates in staff performance evaluations, supports the development and monitoring of professional development goals, and reviews/approves administrative documents such as timesheets, work orders, and purchase orders.
Conducts and follows up on site visits and Unusual Incidents related to Community Care Licensing, Health, CACFP, and Head Start; reports concern to supervisors and mandated agencies as necessary, including child abuse reporting.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, human services, or an applicable field.
Holds a current Site Supervisor Permit or higher from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing or meets the eligibility requirements to obtain one.
Familiarity with Conscious Discipline practices to support social-emotional development and positive behavior strategies.
Understanding of Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) and developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood education Experience with or knowledge of the Creative Curriculum framework preferred.

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% - also specify within Los Angeles County, PLN locations, Los Angeles County of Education (LACOE), domestically and internationally for conferences.

Salary : $69,041 - $86,914
