We are seeking a FinOps Lead to drive cloud financial management, cost optimization, and governance across a growing technology organization. This role serves as a strategic partner to Engineering, Finance, and Procurement teams, helping transform cloud spend data into actionable insights that improve financial performance and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of cloud financial management, forecasting, governance, and stakeholder influence. This individual will play a key role in developing cost optimization strategies, enhancing financial visibility, and supporting data-driven decision-making across cloud environments. Responsibilities Develop forecasting models, budgeting processes, and financial reporting for cloud infrastructure spend. Analyze cloud usage and spending trends to identify optimization opportunities and cost-saving initiatives. Design and manage cloud commitment strategies, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and other cost optimization programs. Partner with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Product teams to improve cloud cost efficiency and financial accountability. Establish and maintain cloud governance standards, tagging frameworks, and cost allocation methodologies. Develop executive-level dashboards and reporting to communicate spending trends, forecasts, risks, and optimization opportunities. Support vendor management activities, contract evaluations, and long-term infrastructure planning efforts. Drive automation and process improvements that enhance visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational effectiveness. Monitor emerging trends and technologies within cloud financial management and FinOps best practices. Qualifications 12 years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, financial analysis, FP&A, infrastructure cost management, or related disciplines. Demonstrated experience implementing or maturing FinOps practices, governance frameworks, cost allocation models, and optimization programs. Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure pricing, billing, and consumption models. Experience managing cloud commitment programs such as Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, or similar purchasing strategies. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Product organizations. Experience developing executive-level reporting, forecasting models, dashboards, and business insights. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling. Familiarity with cloud architecture concepts and how infrastructure decisions impact cost, performance, and scalability. Experience working in SaaS, technology, or cloud-centric environments. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to influence decision-making across technical and business teams. Demonstrated success building scalable processes, governance standards, and operational frameworks.
