Research & Data Analyst, Extel

Extel, is the leading provider of unattributed, qualitative feedback, for all three sides of the investment community (Buy-side, Sell-side and Corporates). A leading financial online publication and a source of business intelligence, Extel has an exciting opportunity for a Research & Data Analyst to join the Operations team. The successful candidate will help drive efficiency and ensure successful commercial delivery of all our surveys globally.

Extel has evolved from a Research & Rankings business to offering detailed data and advisory output that delivers actionable intelligence to the investment community. The demands for the Operations Team are increasing and the Director of Operations requires additional resources to support the growing client base and deliverables. The business has a tight timeline for execution of surveys, delivery of commercial reports and verification of the published results. The Research & Data Analyst will play a crucial role in the planning, executing and delivering of projects on time and within scope.

Skills & Experience

• 1-2 years’ experience in a data research role
• Ability to work under pressure and hit deadlines
• Demonstrate experience of multi-tasking in a complex environment
• Ability to work in a team environment and maintain good communication with cross-functional teams
• Exceptional organizational skills, superior work ethic and extreme attention to detail
• Creative and critical thinking skills to analyze data and uncover insights
• Some client service experience would be beneficial
• IT Literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office (including strong Excel skills)

Responsibilities

• Survey Administration: Extel runs up to fifteen survey projects through the calendar year, from survey creation to published rankings. The candidate will be required to assist in the development and execution of project plans and schedules. They must understand project overlaps, track status and provide updates on project progress, and assist in the implementation of project deadlines. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure smooth survey delivery.
• Client Engagement: Interaction with external contacts to explain voting process and survey methodology, as well as encouraging participation in the surveys. A professional and efficient approach is essential.
• Database Operation: Data cleansing to ensure accurate demographic information, eligibility of participants and quality of voting for research projects, working with project managers and database team. Monitor and maintain accurate contact data in CRM.
• Survey Results: Assist with preparation of survey results publication. Review and analyze results for processing errors, year-on-year trends, missing information.
• Technical Operations: The candidate will be expected to independently use firm systems which include Qlik and HubSpot, to carry out the operational processes.
