Duties
- Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting crops using hand tools and farm machinery
- Provide attentive care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring health status
- Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, forklifts, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm equipment and machinery, including welding and basic equipment troubleshooting
- Manage animal husbandry tasks like breeding, cleaning enclosures, and ensuring proper nutrition
- Support greenhouse activities by planting seedlings, managing climate controls, and maintaining horticultural standards
- Supervise or collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all farm activities
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in agricultural or farm settings
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery and equipment repair
- Strong animal handling skills with a focus on animal husbandry and care
- Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely
- Experience with irrigation systems, greenhouse management, and horticulture practices
- Knowledge of farming techniques including growing experience and crop management
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting schedules or feed rations
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with welding techniques for equipment repair and maintenance
- Strong understanding of agriculture principles including animal husbandry and sustainable farming practices
