Role Description This part-time or full-time Mental Health Counselor role is a hybrid position based in Garden City, NY, with a combination of in-office sessions and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing individual, couples, and family counseling using evidence-based and expressive therapeutic approaches aligned with the practice’s holistic philosophy. The counselor will conduct intake assessments, formulate diagnoses as appropriate, and collaborate with clients to develop and update treatment plans that reflect their goals and needs. Ongoing duties include maintaining a manageable caseload, documenting sessions and progress notes in a timely and compliant manner, and coordinating care with other providers or community resources when needed. The role also involves participating in team meetings, engaging in regular supervision or consultation, and contributing to a supportive, collaborative practice culture that prioritizes client-centered care and professional growth.

Qualifications
- Strong clinical foundation in Mental Health and Psychology, with the ability to apply evidence-based and integrative approaches in a holistic counseling setting.
- Demonstrated experience in Treatment Planning and Case Management, including assessment, goal setting, progress monitoring, and coordination of care.
- Current New York State licensure or limited permit (e.g., LMHC, LMFT ,LCAT, or equivalent) or eligibility to obtain such licensure within a defined timeframe.
- Experience or strong interest in mindfulness-based interventions and expressive modalities (e.g., art, movement, or creative therapies) is highly beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse cultures, identities, and backgrounds.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, managing both in-person and telehealth sessions, and using electronic health record systems securely and efficiently.
