Customer Service & Sales Team Member

Job Summary

The Team Member is the front line at Express Wash on Vaughn, a high-volume express tunnel car wash. This is a combined role that rotates between two key positions: loading vehicles safely into the wash tunnel, and running the pay station, where you greet guests, sell wash packages and unlimited memberships, and process transactions. The role is part hospitality, part sales, and part operations, with a focus on safety, speed, and a great guest experience.

Success is measured by safe loading, smooth traffic flow, membership conversions, and accurate transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Tunnel Loading and Safety

• Safely guide and align vehicles onto the conveyor and provide clear loading instructions
• Conduct visual safety checks, confirming windows are up and vehicles are ready for the wash
• Maintain consistent vehicle spacing to support steady throughput
• Watch the tunnel entry for hazards and keep the area clean and organized
• Operate loading controls and related tunnel systems as required

Sales and Customer Service

• Greet guests and start service-focused conversations
• Explain wash packages, pricing, and membership benefits clearly
• Recommend upgrades and actively promote unlimited wash memberships
• Meet or exceed individual sales and conversion goals

Transactions and Cash Handling

• Process cash, credit card, and digital payments accurately
• Maintain proper cash handling and end-of-shift reconciliation
• Keep the pay station and lobby areas clean and organized

Site Upkeep and Operations

• Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures
• Communicate operational or safety concerns to a lead or manager immediately
• Support overall site operations as needed

Performance Expectations

• Maintain safe loading practices at all times
• Offer membership options to every guest and hit conversion targets
• Support target vehicle throughput
• Maintain high transaction accuracy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous car wash, retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred but not required
• Comfortable initiating conversations and asking for the sale
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
• Basic computer and point-of-sale proficiency
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
