What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Dispatcher position at Express-Spartanburg?
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher / Transportation Coordinator to join our team in a direct-hire capacity. This position is responsible for coordinating freight movements, dispatching drivers, and ensuring efficient daily operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Driver check-in and communication
- Organize and coordinate daily pickups
- Post and manage available loads
- Route planning and scheduling
- Dispatch drivers and monitor load progress
- Enter orders into the system accurately
- Communicate and update operations on any load delays, issues, or deviations
- Ensure timely and efficient freight movement while providing excellent customer service
Schedule: Hours will vary depending on the freight division assigned:
- Local Freight: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Regional Freight: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
- OTR Freight: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Shifts are typically 10–11 hours per day.
Additional Information:
- Employees should bring their lunch daily, as there is generally limited opportunity to leave the facility during the workday.
- Drayage experience is a plus.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
Compensation:
- Salary in the mid-$40,000 range, depending on experience and qualifications.
