Audio Visual Technician (Part-Time)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Part-Time Audio Visual Technician to support the setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment for events in a hospitality environment. This role ensures high-quality event execution while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and dismantle audiovisual equipment for events of various sizes
• Ensure events run smoothly through accurate and timely execution of AV services
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues with equipment and software
• Monitor events and provide on-site support to clients throughout event duration
• Adapt quickly to last-minute changes or equipment challenges in a professional manner
• Review event requests to understand logistics, technical needs, and client expectations
• Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and venue management
• Maintain and repair AV equipment to ensure proper working condition
• Assist with exhibit setup, maintenance, and breakdown when required
• Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards or incidents immediately
• Support event cleanup and breakdown (or until shift completion)
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• At least 1 year of audiovisual or related technical experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if operating company vehicles)

Technical Skills (Preferred)

• Audio: microphones, wireless systems, mixers, speakers, push-to-talk systems
• Lighting: uplighting, gobos, podium lighting, basic focusing
• Rigging: stands, trusses, banners, and ground-supported systems
• Video & Computers: basic video systems and computer operation
• Experience troubleshooting technical equipment and exhibits

Physical Requirements

• Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders
• Comfortable working in various environments, including noisy or outdoor conditions
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts
